Dear Friends, Working with Will and Doreta Niven
|

We are writing to bring you up to date on Will and Doreta Niven’s new initiatives, and to introduce ourselves. As you may be aware, for a number of reasons, Will has left the European Christian Mission although he continues with the same work and pastoral responsibilities as before, as Senior Missionary with the churches in Fier and Patos, and with other training and bible teaching work. Some will already be aware of the changes to his financial arrangements, but we repeat them here to ensure that everyone knows of them. Any personal support to Will is being channelled through Stewardship Services, who have set up an individual account for Will and Doreta to receive gifts from individuals. If you would like to support Will and Doreta in this way we can send the necessary forms to enable you to do this. The details of how to contact us are at the head of this letter. Church groups can send gifts directly to Will and Doreta’s bank account in the UK. We can forward details of this to any who need this information. There is also a need to establish a structure in the UK for Will and Doreta in order to ensure that they are adequately supported in other ways, and to assist them in new initiatives in future. To this end we are in the process of setting up a Charitable Trust which will be called ‘Illyrian Gospel Trust’. Illyricum is mentioned by Paul in the 15th Chapter of the letter to Rome. Verse 19 reads “So from Jerusalem all the way round to Illyricum, I have fully proclaimed the Gospel of Christ.” Albania is part of the territory described by Paul as Illyricum. It is also our desire to work with Will and Doreta to ‘fully proclaim the Gospel of Christ’. Four trustees will serve on a volunteer basis to set up the trust - Roger Aldridge who is an Elder and member of Letchworth Baptist Church; Bob Christian who is an Elder and member of Christchurch Baldock; John Batchelor who is treasurer and a member of Christchurch Baldock; and myself, Michael Wilcock, an Elder and member of Letchworth Baptist Church.
Will was a member of Letchworth Baptist Church when he had the call to go to Albania and so this is his sending church. Members of Christchurch Baldock are keen supporters of Will and Doreta and have sent a team out to help in the work for the last two years. We look forward to working with you as fellow supporters of Will and Doreta, and will be bringing you news of developments from time to time. If you have any questions please do get in touch.
